Small is the new midsize. Automakers are producing smaller, compressed version of the popular crossovers for consumers who desire the look and utility of the larger models without the larger footprint. The new Honda HR-V is an example of what is being produced. The younger sibling of the CR-V and the older sibling of the Fit, the Honda HR-V will offer an alternative for those consumers who need space for passengers and gear but don't need the family sized vehicle. The new HR-V will offer a number of safety features including anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control and numerous air bags throughout the vehicle. When the HR-V's seats are folded, it creates an impressive amount of cargo space; 59 cubic feet, not much less than that of some midsize crossovers.
